Splash Financial, US consumer-lending platform

An end-to-end test platform, built from zero

role: Built the platform from nothing.

// problem

There was no end-to-end test platform. Existing suites ran on Cypress, without scheduled runs, failure notifications or a view of test health.

// approach

  • A dedicated Playwright app with one house pattern for every suite.
  • Scheduled GitHub Actions runs against staging.
  • Failure notifications and test-health reporting.
  • Existing suites migrated off Cypress.
  • An agent skill that writes new tests in the house pattern.

// architecture

// guardrails and production concerns

  • One pattern for every suite, whether a person or an agent writes it.
  • Failures notify the team instead of waiting to be noticed.

// outcome

The team has a scheduled end-to-end signal with health reporting, a single Playwright pattern, and an agent skill that writes new tests in that pattern.

// stack

  • Playwright
  • GitHub Actions
  • TypeScript
  • Cypress (migrated off)
